We are excited to introduce you to an invaluable program that provides essential support and guidance for new and first-time mothers. The Nurse-Family Partnership offers comprehensive assistance, ensuring the health and well-being of both mothers and babies during the critical stages of pregnancy and early parenthood.
Nurse-Family Partnership: Your Partner in Parenthood
Are you expecting your first child? The Nurse-Family Partnership program is here to help. When you enroll in this program, a registered nurse will visit you in the comfort of your home throughout your pregnancy and continue these visits until your baby is 2 years old. Here are some key details:
Cost: Nurse-Family Partnership is absolutely FREE for all eligible women.
Eligibility: Any pregnant woman with her first child, who meets income requirements, and lives within the program’s service area can enroll. We encourage early enrollment in your pregnancy journey.
Frequency of Visits: Your nurse will visit you regularly, typically once a week or every two weeks during your pregnancy until your child turns 2. You and your nurse will work together to establish the best schedule.
Your nurse will provide support in various ways:
- Healthy Pregnancy and Baby: Ensuring you have a healthy pregnancy and a thriving baby is a top priority.
- Parenting Skills: Your nurse will help you become a confident and capable parent.
- Building a Support Network: Together, you’ll build a strong support network for you and your baby.
- Safe Home Environment: Make your home a safe and secure place for your baby to grow, learn, and play.
- Referrals and Support: Get connected to essential healthcare, childcare, job training, and other community support services.
- Education and Job Skills: Discover opportunities for furthering your education and job skills.
- Setting Goals: Together, you’ll set goals for your family’s future and work on strategies to achieve them.
The Nurse-Family Partnership encourages fathers, family members, and friends to join the visits and learn how to support you best. You and your nurse decide who participates.
